Mobile apps have been the best thing since sliced bread. The application is so easy to down load and use. Just make sure you have internet access on your mobile device or you will get charged per kilobyte that you use. I actually used the GPS the other day to find a nearby restaurant. It automatically fixed my location and gave me restaurants within a 5 to 10 mile radius. The email and contact search is a great tool as well if you are away from the office. No calling your assistant to look up vital information. It is all right at your fingertips. I am going to spread the word on Facebook, so be looking for my post. I will list a link to the Mobile Apps site http://www.google.com/mobile/search/ and a link to my blog as well. If you have any questions or would like to comment if you have used a Mobile App like these, please share.

GPS Location
Another feature of this Mobile App suite is the GPS (Global Positioning System). If you are trying to find a nearby business, restaurant, or hotel this feature uses the GPS system on your mobile device. You will not have to type in the address of where you are currently, it will use your current location and give you area businesses, hotels and restaurants that are nearby. While taking the worry out of trying to find out what address to use and no typing and driving, this will save you both time and money when meeting with a client or perspective clients. Mobile Apps have come along way and I think this is my personal favorite. Especially with all the 3G, 4G and wireless access points around town, it is really efficient and fast to find a location. Can you imagine trying to find a telephone book these days, much less a telephone booth?

Mobile Searching
I have ventured off into the realm of mobile applications for your handheld devices. One in particular is an application that will allow you to search contacts on your device, check email, and find a location and calendaring. You might ask why you would want all these different applications on your mobile device. If you are starting a business and need to keep track of emails, contacts and meetings while locating a place to meet a client, this would be the smart application for you. You install this Google Mobile App on your device just by going to http://m.google.com/search on your devices’ browser. This application only takes about a minute to download and you must have a Google account to activate it the email part of the application. Even if you are not a great speller, you can use voice search to locate what you are looking for. I love this application and it seems very business worthy.
